Fail ....

NOT!!!

Few.. I'll keep this one short, cuz it's late folks...

I know, I know, you're all like, "more Jon, more" But it's like 11PM and I just finished a 10 minute doozy of a run.

I was sittin on my couch reading a philosophy book (playing a video game about shooting people) when I started to think about how awesome all this marathon stuff was when I realized I HADN'T ACTUALLY DONE MY RUN FOR THE DAY!!!

This was at 10:02PM... I wasn't going to let it beat me though, got on my gear and busted out 1.12 Miles in 10 Minutes 8:53 pace (Take THAT Ashley!).

The run did get me excited though, because I felt like I could have run for an hour. And THAT folks, felt great. Ashley said it somewhere in her blog or the Ogden Marathon 2010 Facebook Group that running, like an aquired taste, will reward you with a confidence that cannot be explained. You'll see runner's on a Saturday morning, and no longer scoff at their insanity, but praise them for it. You begin to GET it.

I'm telling all (the 2 that read this...) of you, trust me, run. It's far and above the BEST way to lose weight, build a healthy heart, and live a longer life.

That's all I got for now, BYE!

Ready... set....

Here we are we at the beginning folks.

I'm officially $80.88 poor-er and therefore commited to yet another 26.2 mile journey of pain and sweat crusties.

I've decided on this go around, since we don't have a lot of dough, to respect the expenditure necessary to commit to this adventure. I am going show this respect through my training and logging of said training, or in this case, "blogging" of said training.

I will officially start my first run of the Ashley Wolfe downloaded training plan which can be found here in her blog, on Monday. This particular run will consist of 10 minutes... if I can't do this one, I will have officially failed :)

Ashley, has gone ahead and set her goal to 4 hours or less for the marathon... *Explative*!

I say *Explative* because my natural competitive instincts, male testosteronal (it's a word now) drive, and the little addition of being STOMPED by Ashley in our first marathon, all means that I too, must run this thing under 4 hours... I'm gonna go ahead and start it off right, meaning that my first b-log of my first run will show that I've run at least 1. 1111111111 miles during my first 10 minute jaunt on the treadmill.

For those who want to register, you can do so at www.active.com. Please please please join the Ogden Marathon Group on facebook, and follow along here (with comments, I'm very vain and love feedback), as well as the much more reliable blog and advice by Ashley here.

Thanks all.

(look for an update tomorrow!!!)
